ALISON DONNAN

Titled Sports Physio

Specialty Areas:

  • Neck and Back Pain
  • Rugby Injuries
  • Dry needling
  • Pilates-based rehab

Ali is a Titled Sports Physiotherapist and Chief Problem-Solver at Bioathletic. She is affectionately known as a Rockstar around here because of her wealth of experience and frequent back stage access to big sporting events like the Olympic Games and World Cups where she is often the Physiotherapist for the South Pacific Island nation of Tonga.

Like the rest of our team, Ali gets a kick out of getting our urban athletes out of pain and back to what they love, often setting a stop watch on herself and trying to make it happen in the shortest time possible. She’s got a knack for conditions of the back and neck and she’s always had a soft spot for working with rugby players after over 20 years with Manly Rugby Union.

Ali keeps herself active with yoga, Pilates, swimming and chasing the Roger Federer entourage at Olympic events. She’s an avid supporter of Youth in Union, who aims to develop athletic talent in underprivileged youth, and she’s passionate about keeping kids in sport for life, without the pressures of representative teams and competitiveness eroding the fun children gain from sport.

Recent Team Physio roles:
> Manly Marlins – Shute Shield Rugby
> Tonga National Rugby team
> Tongan Olympic team
> Saint Augustine’s College Sydney
